Ryan and Matt's Hero/Villain

In matt's drawing, the superhero is in a soft color, He used split-complementary way to color the superhero. He used three different hues, the yellow, red, and blue. In Ryan's villain drawing, he used similar hues and the entire picture is dark, and the saturation is pure.
Ryan did a great job lighting the villain. He added many shadow in his picture even though the villain has a light in his hand, his face is bright somewhere to create more shadow. Especially the background is dark and we cannot see anything but the shadow of buildings. This city seems under a fear and hopeless feeling because of the villain. I really like this picture. The superhero picture has fewer moods in it. Because it has less shadow and the color are too similar. But i can see it had a brighter feeling than the villain's picture. There is one thing I noticed in both pictures that they are both in front of the city. But the superhero is in the bright side which we can clearly see what the buildings look like, and they are colored. To the opposite, the villain is in front of the dark city. He is the black side of the city. The villain is far away from the city, because he is not welcomed. The fire in the villain’s hand is a symbolism of his dark cool heart, the fire is not bright.

Jordan and Lena's Hero/Villain

In Jordan and Lena’s animation, the superhero colored in two pictures show his two different situations. When he is in sleep, he is in cold blue color. But when he weak up, and ready to fight with the villain he changed to yellow which is brighter and seem more powerful and strong. I really like Jordan’s animation. it is colored. From this animation I can see this is more like a cartoon. It’s saturated. And the villain that Lena draw is in a dark color. She did not use too much different color. Just basically all dark color to show it is a bad guy. As we can see the villain is a joker. His head shaped a triangle. I think she could shape the villain in a different shape. And the color Lena used is cool. But I think she could add some background in it, to show more detail what kind of power he had.

Their animation is show in a didactic way. Usually a superhero animation is didactic, they directly tell the story and what is the main point. Jordan’s animation is also like that. We can see the villain is trying to do something bad, when the person is in deep sleep and have a good dream. And their superhero shows his super power and fights back the villain. The motivation is also easy to see, the superhero is trying to protect people’s dream, so he is like a night-light. When the villain shows up, he turns on.

Mike and Andraw's Hero/Villain

Mike and Andrew’s Hero/Villain is so funny. I really like it. the setting is based on the real life, I thought if it will become a animation it will become really popular in OU. Especially for media students. Anyway. Pictures are cool too. I really like the way they colored the character. Basically, because this animation is kind of comedy, they have the highest saturation. Like a common cartoon on TV. And the pictures are easy to see who is the villain and who is the superhero. Professor Williams is colored in bright with closed hues. It is pretty clearly to see he is the superhero. But I don’t really get what kind of superpower he got. The roger, the villain, is in black color. His face is hard to see, because he has a big shadow in his face. The background is in cold and dark blue, with two yellow flashing. in the left bottom corner, “OU” is in there. So we can know where does the story take place.

Form the color I can see tension and release. The superhero is release, because it is warm, and bright. The smile in his face makes audience feel safe and happy. To the opposite the roger must be the tension. His face is not clear, that make a sense of unsafe. We cannot trust people who we cannot understand or see clearly. When audiences see roger they should feel nervous. He is dark with creepy smile in his face. How could people like that will be a good person.
